- Type-material: syntype workers, syntype queens (numbers not stated, “numerous”).
- Type-locality: Brazil: Pernambuco, Tapera, nos. 1.654, 1.708, 2.557, 3.114, 5.818 (D.B. Pickel).
- Type-depository: MZSP.
- Subspecies of scelerata: Kempf, 1972a: 84; Bolton, 1995b: 164.
- Distribution: Brazil.
